On 5 September 2014, the World Economic Forum launched its second iteration of the report  From Ideas to Practice, Pilots to Strategy: Practical Solutions and Actionable Insights on How to Do Impact Investing. The first of these reports was released in December 2013. This follow-up report addresses how the thought leadership and innovation of first-movers can be translated into action for the broader impact investing sector. The report additionally touches on issues like:

  • The democratisation of impact investing, and growing demand from mainstream and retail investors.
  • How private equity funds might assess risk and return on impact investments.
  • How academic institutions might generate and synthesise new information for impact investment professionals and pioneer investors.

Rosemary Addis, Co-Founder and Executive Chair of Impact Investing Australia was a member of the review committee for the articles.

The first and second iterations of the Ideas to Practice reports built off an earlier report, Margins to the Mainstream, released in September 2013, which sought to clarify and provide accurate assessments of, the impact investing sector.
