Impact investing has been noted for consideration in Australia’s first Financial System Inquiry in 17 years.

The FSI Interim Report, released on July 15, 2014 addressed impact investment and social impact bonds under Section 3 – Funding. The inclusion marks a pivot point for impact investing in Australia. The FSI noted that submissions on impact investing highlighted a potential role for government in areas such as: providing risk capital, a dedicated social impact investment bank, and tax concessions.

Impact Investing Australia is proud to have contributed to these submissions.  You can read our full submission here.

Auspiced by the Australian National Advisory Board to the Social Impact Investing Taskforce, established by the G8, Impact Investing Australia is working with numerous stakeholders to develop a strategy to catalyse impact investing in the nation.
