Investors are being invited to participate in Australia’s inaugural Impact Investor Survey, conducted by Impact Investing Australia.

The 2015 Survey is the first of its kind in Australia, and will provide critical insights and data to help grow the opportunities for investments that deliver positive social or environmental impacts in addition to a financial return.

The Survey aims to uncover current impact investing activity already happening across investor groups, as well as demonstrating the level of demand and areas of growth for impact investment.

“It will provide a better understanding of the motivations, intentions and barriers encountered by investors participating in impact investing, as well as reveal the awareness and interest in impact investing from investors who are not currently making impact investments” said Daniel Madhavan, Impact Investing Australia’s CEO.

Impact investing is growing globally with impact investments being made across all geographies and a range of sectors. The world’s largest impact investors have committed $US12.2 billion to impact investing in 2015 (JP Morgan, GIIN).   “The Survey is an important mechanism for understanding – and being able to track over time – the activity, size and perspectives of the market operating in and from Australia.”

The investor survey is one of five key actions outlined as the Australian Advisory Board on Impact Investing’s strategy ‘Delivering on Impact‘ as central to catalysing the market for impact investing in and from Australia.

All survey participants will receive a copy of the final report and be invited to a briefing session to share findings before the public release of the final report in late 2015/early 2016.

The survey will close on Friday 2 October.
