Extending our impact
Delivering even more impact with new alumni, Board members and webinars
This month, we’re pleased to add two inspiring businesses to our Growth Grant alumni. I’m sure you’ll agree they are impressive enterprises doing important, impactful work.
Thanks for your positive response to our Roadmap for Australian Investors – How to invest to achieve gender equity, racial equity, diversity and inclusion. Following the successful launch at the Impact Investment Summit, we’re running two free webinars to provide a deeper insight into the topic. A reminder the Roadmap is available on our website, here.
In other news, we have welcomed three new Directors to IIA. All five members of the Federal Government’s Taskforce for Social Impact Investing are now members of our Board. We look forward to working with them, as we shape the future of impact investing in Australia.
Finally, we share two recorded conversations our Founding Chair, Rosemary Addis AM held recently with two world-recognised impact leaders. Be sure to take a listen.
Have a great weekend!

Social enterprises making a big impact
We congratulate and celebrate our two latest Growth Grant recipients:
Champion Life offers guided physical activity, social and emotional learning and wellbeing monitoring through its digital platform. With real-time data and positive interventions, it enables teachers and school leaders to empower students and improve whole-school wellbeing.
Ys Housing helps low-income families secure high-quality homes. The social enterprise designs and develops net-zero homes for families most in need, using a unique shared-equity finance model.

Free gender lens investing webinars
Later this month we’ll be hosting free webinars on gender lens investing (GLI) tailored to specific audiences. The 45-minute webinars, hosted by the authors of Roadmap for Australian Investors – How to invest to achieve gender equity, racial equity, diversity and inclusion, will dive deeper into GLI specifically for: (1) asset owners and fund managers, and (2) wealth managers and family offices/foundations.
The webinars, hosted alongside Capital Human, aim to deepen your knowledge and understanding of GLI. You’ll hear first-hand about the motivation for GLI and the positive impact it is having from those who are practising it – our webinar special guests. Stay tuned on our social media channels for more details.

Conversations with impact leaders
Our Founding Chair, Rosemary Addis AM recently held conversations with two impressive impact leaders – Ford Foundation’s President, Darren Walker and The Big Issue Group’s Chair, Nigel Kershaw.
These conversations highlighted the role impact investing has in addressing the deep inequities across the globe, amplified by the pandemic, and how we can mobilise capital for impact.
If you missed the conversations at the recent Impact Investment Summit and you’re keen to be inspired, watch the videos here:
